If you are just using it for artsy stuff and not for PROfessional industry related work, you aren't using the software to it's full potential. KeyShot works on GPU and CPU as well as Mac and Windows and does real time rendering, unlike other softwares where you to go to a different option and pause what you are doing to render. So it was expensive, like all the other softwares out there like Lumion's $3,314.49 version. This is software is used by manufacturing, architect, engineering, automative, product design. Remember, this isn't a hobbyist/freelance software, like Substance or Marmoset. You also get all the benefits of Annual Maintenance meaning no additional charge upgrades and you get phone-in support. Its combined editions comprise more than 58 million articles.

Also with subscription you no longer have to manually deactivate your license when switching devices since it isn't node-locked based like perpetual is. Initially available only in English, versions in other languages were quickly developed. and now that it has, if you didn't, you made the choice to go to subscription if you want to get on newer versions. And 'good news' in that they gave to you good notice that if you want to stay on perpetual moving forward, get on Annual Maintenance before KeyShot 11 releases. ZBrush appeals to a wide audience by providing empowering tools that give users intuitive and visual control over the digital images they create. So it was drastic decrease while every other software has gone up in price. ZBrush is a graphic application aimed at simplifying the science behind generating computer graphics. Oh one last thing, it's kinda cool what they told me, is that in KeyShot 11 subscription licenses is that you should now be able to remotely switch computers. They said you can email them for more information and also to give your opinions on the switch. I see almost no one talking about it so thought I should get the word out. No news yet if you have a license like KeyShot for Zbrush if they will continue doing that or you have to just go subscription.

Also they told me that maintenance costs are going up in price next year.

If you are a permanent license user that doesn't want to switch but get on to the new version, you have to get Annual Maintenace with Keyshot 10, which you will have to upgrade your license too if you don't have it.ДЄlso, once Keyshot 11 comes out, from what I was told is that they most likely won't be allowing upgrades from your permenant HD licenses to Pro licenses later. So I'm a long time user of KeyShot through my company and wanted to let you all know the information I got from our company email sent to us this week, as well as talking to KeyShot through email and spread the good news that KeyShot is going subscription for KeyShot 11 that is releasing in early next year.
